Hello, and welcome to Altenew’s February 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop! If you came from the super talented Vicky Papaioannou’s blog, you are right on track.
As you may already know, I moved from California to Texas two days ago. That means I’ve been super busy prepping the move for the past couple of weeks. So I didn’t have enough time to come up with a new design for today’s blog hop project.
Since I was in a hurry to complete my project before packing up all of my crafting supplies, I decided to recreate the card inspired by the card that I created last year.
I started by stamping the images from Altenew Beautiful Peony Stamp Set with Altenew Olive Ink on a piece of A2 size Simon Says Stamp Green Leaf Cardstock.
Then I colored my images with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I started coloring with the darkest color first toward the bottom of my flower and applied medium color near the previous colored area and toward the end of my petal. Then I colored the tip of my petal with a lighter colored pencil.
FYI, here is the list of Prismacolor pencil colors I used for coloring.
- Flowers: PC 939 Peche, PC 928 Rose Farde, PC 929 Rose, PC 994 Rouge Quadrichromie
- Leaves: PC 912 Vert Pomme, PC 905 Aquamarine, PC 992 Bleu Vert Pale
After my coloring was done, I die cut the letter “B” twice using the Mega Alphabet B Die out of my colored panel and white fun form. Then I mounted my colored panel on the A2 size white top folding card base. After attaching two die cut letters using Altenew glue tape, I inlaid my letter on the opening of my colored panel.
FYI, I colored along the side of my fun form letter die cut using a brush tip of Altenew Artist Marker Parrot to match the color with my card panel.
I stamped the sentiment from the Botanical Silhouettes Stamp Set with Altenew Embossing Ink on a piece of white cardstock and heat embossed it using Altenew Rose Gold Crisp Embossing Powder. Then I cut out my sentiment into a thin banner and mounted it on the right side of my card front using 3M foam tape.
That’s all for my card. Hope my card inspired you to create a card using colored pencils.
