Hello, and welcome to the Altenew March 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop! If you came from the fabulous Laura Bassen’s blog, you are right on track!
Today the design team girls and guests are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate a release of new stamps and dies. And I created three cards featuring the Sweet Rose Bouquet Stamp & Die Bundle, Hope Stamp & Die Bundle, and Doodled Dots Cover Die.
FYI, my inspiration came from two cards that I created: THIS and THIS. I took some ideas of color combination, the embossing pasted background, and the placement of die cut elements from both cards.
I had so much fun stamping layered images in gorgeous colors and building up the die cut images in the embossing pasted background! As you can see above, today’s card is all about dimension and texture!

I started by die cutting the panel out of A2 size white cardstock using the Doodled Dots Cover Die to create my own stencil. Then I applied some Ranger Texture Paste over the paper stencil on the entire surface of A2 size white cardstock.
Next, I mounted my panel on an A2 size top folding white card base using double sided tape after drying my panel for about 15-20 minutes.
After that, I stamped my flowers and leaves from the Sweet Rose Bouquet Stamp Set using Altenew Crisp Dye Ink Pads on a piece of white cardstock. Here is the list of ink colors I used for stamping:
- Pink flower: Pink Diamond, Pinkalicious, Rubellite, and Razzleberry
- Yellow flower: Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow, and Honey Drizzle
- Leaves: Morning Frost, Evening Gray, Moon Rock, and Lava Rock
Then I die cut my images using the Sweet Rose Bouquet Die Set and the Spellbinders Platinum die cut machine. After fussy cutting my flower sprig with scissors as a base layer, I mounted die cut flowers and leaves on the stamped image using 3M foam tape to add the second/third layer.
I also die cut “hope” 8 times out of white cardstock and one time out of gold glitter paper using the Hope Die Set and Altenew Mini Blossom die cutting machine. Then I adhered my die cuts together using a glue pen to achieve a chipboard effect.
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Hope Stamp Set using Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder on a piece of black cardstock. After cutting out my sentiment into a thin banner using a craft knife and ruler, I mounted the sentiment banner and die cut hope on the card front using 3M foam tape to finish off my card.
