Giveaway, Simon Says Stamp

Cacti Watercolor Card using Daniel Smith Watercolors + $100 Prize Pack Giveaway

by May Park-

Do you remember that I went to a craft retreat in Ohio last October? Of course, I had so much fun hanging out with my craft squad for a few days. I rarely did crafting, though as I was so busy chatting with my friends. Hehe.. 🙂

While I was there, I was able to complete one piece of watercolor card. Yay!!! So proud of myself! FYI, this image is illustrated by my super talented friend, Suzy Plantamura.

For my coloring project, I borrowed some supplies from my friends: Simon Says Stamp’s succulent doodle print from Kathy Rachossin, Daniel Smith watercolors from Lydia Fidler, and Zen watercolor brush from Kristina Werner.

The earthy colors are not my go-to colors, but I enjoyed coloring the little succulents images. I love how my watercolor card turned out! What do you think?

*Note: This morning I accidentally published my draft post for the Pinkfresh Studio release blog hop. These 6 ladies were kind enough to leave a comment telling me about my mistake. No one blamed me for publishing an empty post. Thank you, ladies! As an apology, I’m giving away a prize pack valued at over $100.

$100 Prize Pack Giveaway

I’m giving away one prize pack valued at over $100 including new/old/used stamps, dies, embellishments from various companies. For a chance to win, leave a comment below telling me about your silly mistake you have made before.

I’ll announce one lucky winner on 2/6/2018. The winner will also receive a handmade card from me. 🙂

Love your card, great job with color choices. I hate getting my card front done and then adhering to my card base the wrong way…upside down. Seems to happen when I am making lots of cards, for Christmas. Did it this year and the year before last.

Starting to talk while you’re in a story and you think your partner is standing next to you but it turns out be a complete stranger!

Your card is so pretty! My silly mistake is that I wore two different colored shoes to work. I have the same shoes in black and navy, and when I arrived at work, I realized I had black on one foot and navy on the other. Got a good laugh out of that one—as did some of my co-workers!

I think the succulents are very pretty. Love the colors you used. I invariably make a smudge on my card or envelope when I go back to add “just one more thing.”

Your coloring is awesome. I enjoy reading your blog and watching your videos. I make a lot of silly mistakes and my granddaughter’s are always quick to point them out. Of course they remind me of how silly I am.

That’s a cool card 🙂 I’m not a fan of succulents, but your card is lovely 🙂
And I did notice the mistake too, I’ve kept that post open on one of my browser tabs to keep checking for your updates 😀

I usually put glue on the wrong side of something, rendering it useless, or back to front…oops!

    Beautiful succulents, May!

Oh boy….mistakes mistakes…I’m full of them. My most recent is really stupid….lol. Hubby and I argued over muffins. I kept telling him that he had to have had more than 1 of my orange cranberry muffins cause I only ate one and 3 were missing. Well, low and behold, the third one that was missing was in my hand and it just completely didn’t even register that before I grabbed it that only 2 were missing 😀

I love your watercolored succulents, May! My silly mistake arrived today–a returned letter because I forgot to put a stamp on it. I think there will be a few more from that batch of outgoing mail that will be returned this week.

I love the colors you used for your card. Great look. I bet it was a fun time on your craft time away. I have made so many mistakes in the past. I think the biggest funniest ones was – I was applying for a new job (15 yrs ago) and I emailed my friend Karen re this and that I hope to get the job.. Well my supervisor was also named Karen.. need I say more..it went to the wrong Karen.. I was sure glad I got the job and dang we all three laughed about it later..

I just love water coloring. It would have been fun to be a fly on the wall at that retreat. Recognized some of my faves.

Beautiful coloring of the succulents, May. Coloring can be very relaxing. Mistake? Me? All. The. Time. Common mistake for me is mis-aligning one of the very last details of a card front. Argh!

LOVE your gorgeous watercolor succulent card May, the earthy colors look awesome. My recent silly mistake was when I made a birthday card for a friend, sent it via regular mail even adding extra postage since the card had a bit of dimension. I was so proud of myself when I got it in the mail in time for her birthday. When I got home from dropping it at the post office, I saw the gift card on the kitchen counter that was supposed to go inside the card! Aargh! So, I made another quick card with the gift card, explaining my silly mistake.

I would love to be able to just sit and watch all of you design. What talent! My mistake is always right at the end of a card, I invaribly get ink, glue or a smudge on my card. Very frustrating. 😉

    Fun story! Last summer, while
    archery shooting, I adjusted my
sight for a 40 yard shot. Then I
sighted in my target and shot my
bow. My arrow hit the sign on top
of the 30 yard target and knocked
it off as I was sighted in on the
wrong target! The sign looked to
have been hit before though. 🙂

Hi May. Your card is so soothing. Love all those colors. I don’t so much silly mistakes but sometimes when I am msg someone, I do send it to someone else by mistake and realise it after few min 🤔😆🤤. This have happened with me quite a few times and I am feeling so silly that time 😄😆. Thanks a lot for the chance of give away. And yes I love your instagram stories. They are fun.

What a fun card. There are not enough lines here to list my “mistakes”, but I’ll tell ya, I have a habit of masking off parts of stamps, usually sentiments, then inking up and forgetting to take the mask off before stamping. I did this about a week ago…4 times in a row. It’s like I couldn’t stop! All in fun, right?

Love how you colored on this card–especially the turquoise pots. I make silly mistakes all the time–usually it is when I am too tired and don’t take the time to think.

I tried to get to that post but eventually got to it through the Pink Fresh blog.
    No biggie.
Last month I made a sample card for my card class. I didn’t think it through
before I started and ended up making the front of the card one way, then you
had to turn the card a quarter turn to get the inside tto show correctly.
The background stamp on the front was not aligned with the way I wanted
to do the inside. Next time I’ll check before I start stamping.
Love the cactii. thanks for sharing.

    Love your cute card!
I made a mistake just today…. my hubby was driving and I told him I needed to head to Rite Aid. I wondered why he was starting to turn the wrong way, when I really intended to tell him I needed to go to CVS. Not sure why I get the store names switched, but I do!
