Hello, and welcome to the Altenew June 2017 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the amazing Debby Hughes’s blog, you are right on track! Today the design team girls and guests are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate a release of new stencils.
Back in March, I created a card with some ombre background by mixing ink sprays and embossing paste. (See my card HERE!) This time I wanted to create a subtle background with a hint of color and shimmer.
To create some interest to my card, I placed my stencil over the cardstock at an angle and applied some Wendy Vecchi embossing paste over the Grid Stencil on partial areas.
For my focal point of my card, I heat embossed the Circle image from the Halftone Circles stamp set with Golden Peach embossing powder. Then I die cut the heart shape using Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies.
I mounted my diecut heart and sentiment banner on my card front using foam tape. I also added some silver metallic thread behind my die cut.
Video + Behind-the-Scenes
I made a video tutorial to show you how to create my card using the Halftone Circles stamp set and Grid stencil from Altenew.
I’m also sharing an overview of Altenew’s new products and behind-the-scenes of my cardmaking in the video you won’t want to miss. You can watch it above or on my YouTube channel:
These are new stencils from Altenew June 2017 release. Make sure to visit the Altenew store HERE to check out the rest of awesome new products.
Giveaways: There are two ways to win!
- To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to THREE lucky winners. Leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog or/and Scrapbook Blog by Tuesday, June 20th at 11:59 pm EDT for a chance to win.
- And there is more! I have a $30 Altenew gift certificate to give away. Leave a comment below, telling me what’s your favorite stencil from Altenew June 2017 release. I will announce one lucky winner on Wednesday, June 21st. Good luck!
I decided to decorate inside my card and back of the card using the sentiments from the Crafty Friends stamps set. I also made about 50 matching envelopes by stamping various sentiments with Industrial Diamond Ink on the flap of each envelope.
Since I used mini MISTI stamping tool to mass produce, it took me less than 20 minutes.
Blog Hop
It is now time to head on over to the fantastic Terhi Koskinen’s blog to see what creation she has to inspire you all. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Happy hopping!

My favourite stencil from the new release is Mega Rose. I love your card May, the textured stencil area really looks amazing and I think the velum heart looks awesome on top. I think your envelopes are fantastic, having a decorated envelope adds so much to the card.

love the splatter one as well.

It’s very hard to choose a favorite, but for versatility sake I think the kaleidoscope stencils are going to be my favorite, and the dahlia is a close second. Thank you for your beautiful design.

The card is gorgeous! Love the envelopes! My craft space is pretty messy when I work but then I have to clean up because I lose things.

My goal is to keep at least a small space open for working, but it is usually not met! I typically start my projects at my craft table, then move to my desk to put it all together while listening to something on YouTube. (But not craft videos, because I need to watch those!!!) Thanks for a very fun idea. I like the idea of using the circles, then die-cutting a different shape–great way to stretch supplies. Thanks so much.

What an amazing release of stencils. There are so many (ok all) that have gone onto my wish list. I love the dahlia duo, but the cubic one would make awesome male cards and the kaleidoscope ones seem to be begging to be played with for awesome backgrounds. Thanks for sharing.

Very pretty cards May. After “hopping” along my favorite stencil has changed several times! The design team has done such an amazing job it’s hard to pick just one…maybe the dahlia?

Such a soft sweet whisper of a card. I love it. I’ve learned decorating the envelopes makes a lovely combo. Creates excitement, before you even open it. Thx
