Hello, and welcome to the Altenew June 2017 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the amazing Debby Hughes’s blog, you are right on track! Today the design team girls and guests are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate a release of new stencils.
Back in March, I created a card with some ombre background by mixing ink sprays and embossing paste. (See my card HERE!) This time I wanted to create a subtle background with a hint of color and shimmer.
To create some interest to my card, I placed my stencil over the cardstock at an angle and applied some Wendy Vecchi embossing paste over the Grid Stencil on partial areas.
For my focal point of my card, I heat embossed the Circle image from the Halftone Circles stamp set with Golden Peach embossing powder. Then I die cut the heart shape using Nesting Hearts Infinity Dies.
I mounted my diecut heart and sentiment banner on my card front using foam tape. I also added some silver metallic thread behind my die cut.
Video + Behind-the-Scenes
I made a video tutorial to show you how to create my card using the Halftone Circles stamp set and Grid stencil from Altenew.
I’m also sharing an overview of Altenew’s new products and behind-the-scenes of my cardmaking in the video you won’t want to miss. You can watch it above or on my YouTube channel:
These are new stencils from Altenew June 2017 release. Make sure to visit the Altenew store HERE to check out the rest of awesome new products.
Giveaways: There are two ways to win!
- To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to THREE lucky winners. Leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog or/and Scrapbook Blog by Tuesday, June 20th at 11:59 pm EDT for a chance to win.
- And there is more! I have a $30 Altenew gift certificate to give away. Leave a comment below, telling me what’s your favorite stencil from Altenew June 2017 release. I will announce one lucky winner on Wednesday, June 21st. Good luck!
I decided to decorate inside my card and back of the card using the sentiments from the Crafty Friends stamps set. I also made about 50 matching envelopes by stamping various sentiments with Industrial Diamond Ink on the flap of each envelope.
Since I used mini MISTI stamping tool to mass produce, it took me less than 20 minutes.
Blog Hop
It is now time to head on over to the fantastic Terhi Koskinen’s blog to see what creation she has to inspire you all. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Happy hopping!

I was waiting to see someone use a paste with the new stencils, and you did it! Its beautiful. You got a wonderful feel with the peachy color and the sparkle that soften the almost industrial look of the grid. Love the envelope idea – those would make the receiver smile! Thanks for the inspiration.

Gorgeous card! I love the color combination you used. I usually clean up my work space as I go so I don’t lose tiny stamps and to make room for my cards.
