Video: Watercolor Iris Card using Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors
Hello, and welcome to the Altenew May 2017 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the amazing Joni Andaya’s blog, you are right on track! Today the design team girls and guests are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate a release of stamps, dies, and embossing powders.
I created a one layer card featuring new stamp sets from Altenew: Enchanted Iris and Crafty Friends. These flowers are a delight to color with any medium, and I decided to color them with my favorite watercolors: Mijello Mission Gold watercolor set.
I’ve felt intimidated by no-line watercoloring for a while, and I accidentally tried no-line watercoloring for today’s project. You can watch my happy accident in my video tutorial below. 🙂
It took me about two hours to watercolor entire images. Of course I had so much fun watercoloring. Don’t you just love those paint splatters? I just love the beauty of randomness.
By the way, I made this card for my super talented friend, Debby Hughes. She taught me how to watercolor florals while we were on the craft retreat last month. Since then I became more confident with watercoloring.
I stamped the sentiments from the Crafty Friends stamp set. That’s exactly what I wanted to say to Debby.
Video
I made a video tutorial to show you how to create my card using the Enchanted Iris and Crafty Friends stamp sets. I’m also sharing an overview of Altenew’s new products and some watercoloring tips in the video you won’t want to miss. You can watch it below or on my YouTube channel:
Watercolor Card using Altenew Stamps and Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors
- Cut down Arches cold press watercolor paper slightly larger than A2 card size using Tim Holtz paper trimmer.
- Prep the watercolor paper with the EK Success Embossing Powder Tool to prevent any stray powder from sticking to unwanted areas.
- Stamp the flowers and leaves from the Enchanted Iris stamp set on the watercolor paper with Versamark Watermark Ink.
- Color the images with Mijello Mission Gold watercolor set. (I created a gentle gradient by starting with intense colors first with less water and then using a paint brush wet with clean water to diffuse the color. If you make a mistake with your watercolors, you can fix it by adding some clean water on the paper and picking up the colors with the paper towel or paintbrush.)
- Cover the images with scrap paper and add paint splatters over the background.
- Stamp the sentiments from the Crafty Friends stamp set with Altenew Crisp black ink.
- Mount the watercolor panel on the A2 sized folding card using double sided tape.
I also created a clean and simple card using the Layered Letters AFG stamp set. You can mix and match the letters and sentiments for endless possibilities.
I couldn’t stop playing with the Layered Letters AFG stamp set and ended up making more than 40 mini cards. Hehe..

And Im sure that if I waited for lengthy enough, I
might drive out heavier than I got here in. Being heavier they don’t swing as simply in the wind scattering seed on the bottom.
These constants permit for internationalization, by laying out parts in their container with the
proper left-to-right, proper-to-left or high-to-backside orientation for the language being used.
The next figures illustrate alignment of parts that have restricted maximum widths.
All parts with an intermediate X alignment (resembling center) might be as huge as their container.
The size of camping tent that you simply need will rely
on the variety of individuals that will occupy the tent.
Sometimes the necessity to adjust the scale is apparent.
Feb . 09 . 2020If adjusting the alignments doesn’t assist, then you definitely
might need a size problem. If the maximum measurement of a
part is smaller than the width of the container, then X alignment comes into play.
On this case, it’s often finest to treat the problem
as an alignment problem first. https://strategicind.com/
