Happy Friday! I hope you don’t mind seeing a photo of myself, not a card. I just wanted to share something different today. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you probably know that I went to the CHA craft show in AZ last month? I did a few Make & Take sessions for Altenew and Hero Arts.
I also made 100 goody bags for the Altenew booth which were filled with beautiful embellishments and patterned papers from Altenew’s Reflection Scrapbook Collection. I basically prepared about 10 goody bags a day, and it took me more than a week to finish 100 goody bags.
It was a lot of work – but I was happy to see people receiving their free gifts and making big smiley faces. The time and effort that I put into these were paid off!
The elements in the Scrapbook Collection were way too beautiful, so I had to take some photos while prepping the goody bags. And those wood buttons with watercolor designs??!!! They are absolutely gorgeous!
This is the product image in case you are curious about what’s included in the Scrapbook Collection. I asked my amazingly talented friends, Lilith and Ashley, if I can share their beautiful layouts with my blog readers. Of course, they said big YES!
They all used Altenew’s Reflection Scrapbook Collection to create the layouts above. I know most of you are cardmakers like me, but isn’t it great to get some inspiration not just from cards but layouts once in a while?
I created a collage using the photos of my old/new friends that I met at the show:
Hope they don’t mind sharing their photos here. Can you tell I had so much fun meeting my friends? I can’t thank them enough for their encouragement, support, inspiration, and love. Seriously, crafty friends are the best!
I love sending happy mail to my friends. This time I decided to send them printed photos even though they are not good quality because I took the photos with iPhone. I’ve sent the photos to about 20 friends since I came back from CHA and I’m planning to mail out to the rest of them by the end of this month hopefully.

My friend Lauren is in New Jersey & I am in Iowa. We became virtual friends many years ago when we were both on a design team for Cardvaarks. Since then, we have managed to get together at least once a year in NY/NJ where we enjoy visiting public art … and then craft together. They are my favorite times of the year. My daughter and I enjoy crafting and since she lives out of town, I’d like to find the time to craft with her. There are many crafters I would love to meet and craft with but I know I’ll never get close to meeting them, much less craft with them. I don’t have many crafty friends, but there is one from work. She started seeing my crafty posts on social media and she shared with me that she also makes cards. So now we’ve become closer and our conversations are always fun. Also I don’t know her, but I wish I could meet Kristina Werner. Oh it looks like you had so much fun! I wish I had someone to craft with although my husband does do his acrylic paintings in the same room as I do my cards in! I do have an Instagram friend who lives about 50 miles from me but that’s a long way to get together! We haven’t even been able to meet yet!
