Hello, and welcome to Altenew’s January 2019 Stamp/Die/Stencil Release Blog Hop! If you came from the super talented Svitlana Shayevich’s blog, you are right on track.
To celebrate a release of new stamps and dies, I created a set of mixed media cards using the new Dainty Bouquet Stamp Set. Actually I filmed a video to show you the cardmaking process, but I accidentally deleted the video. What a bummer!
I started by mixing some Ranger Texture Paste and Tonic Nuvo Glimmer Paste and applying them over the Feeling Dotty Stencil to partial areas of A2 size 110LB white cardstock. Then I let my panel air dry for about 15-20 minutes.
Next, I mounted my panel on an A2 size top folding white card base using double sided tape. To add interest on my background, I added some splatters randomly over my panel using Altenew Ink Sprays: Antique Gold Metallic Ink Spray and Jet Black Ink Spray.
After that, I stamped my flowers and leaves from the Dainty Bouquet Stamp Set using Altenew Crisp Dye Ink Pads on a piece of white cardstock. Here is the list of ink colors I used for stamping:
- Red flower: Morning Frost, Coral Berry, and Ruby Red
- Leaves: Morning Frost, Volcano Lake, and Emerald
I die cut my images using the Dainty Bouquet Die Set and the Spellbinders Platinum die cut machine. Then I mounted my die cut flowers and leaves on the card front using 3M foam tape to give some dimension.
After that, I die cut “congrats” 4 times out of white cardstock and one time out of gold glitter paper from the Script Words Die Set using Altenew Mini Blossom die cutting machine. Then I adhered my die cuts together using a glue pen to achieve a chipboard effect.
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Leaf Canopy Stamp Set using Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder on a piece of black cardstock.
After cutting out my sentiment into a thin banner using a craft knife and ruler, I mounted the sentiment banner and die cut congrats on the card front using 3M foam tape to finish off my card.
I made a matching envelope by stamping one of the solid images from the Dainty Bouquet Stamp Set on a flap of my envelope. I used two shades of ink from the Red Cosmos Oval Ink Set to achieve an ombre look of the image.
While all of my supplies were out, I decided to create one more card using the same design, but different color combo. This time I used the Square Weave Patterns Stencil for creating the embossed background.
Here is the list of ink colors I used for stamping on my second card:
- Orange flower: Morning Frost, Orange Cream, and Firebrick
- Leaves: Morning Frost, Volcano Lake, and Emerald
By the way, my inspiration came from THIS CARD I created last year. I just loved the embossing pasted background and the die cut elements on my old card. This time I just wanted to get messy with ink splatters.
If you like the clean and simple design, you can skip adding the embossing pasted background and ink splatters. 
I had so much fun stamping layered images in gorgeous colors and building up the die cut images on the embossing pasted background! Today’s cards are all about dimension and texture! Hope you love what I created.
