Video | Altenew August 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello, and welcome to Altenew’s August 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop! If you came from Simon Says Stamp Blog, you are right on track.

To celebrate a release of new stamps and dies, I created a floral-themed birthday card with a hidden title using the Floral Art Stamp Set and Mega Number Die Bundle. I have a friend who is celebrating her 52nd birthday next month – so I was really excited to use the number dies to highlight her age as a title of my card.

I started by stamping the one large and one medium-sized floral outline images from the Floral Art Stamp Set with Altenew Permanent Black Ink in diagonal on a piece of A2 size white cardstock.

Then I stamped the additional layer images using the Altenew Crisp Dye Inks. FYI, here is the list of inks colors I used for stamping:

• Orange flower: Sunkissed, Autumn Blaze
• Blue flower: Teal Cave, Aqualicious

After masking off the outline images, I stamped a few small flower images around the main two flowers. I tried to keep the number of my small flowers to five which is an odd number to help please our eyes as the images work together with a balance.

Then I stamped the leaves between the flowers using the following inks: Morning Frost and Evening Gray. The reason that I didn’t choose the green color for my leaves is that I wanted to bring attention to my flowers by leaving my background monochrome.

To bring my images together, I added tiny dots to fill in the gaps between each image using a fine tip of Altenew Artist Markers Set B: Moring Forst and Evening Gray.

Next, I die cut the numbers “5” and “2” twice using the Mega Numer Die Bundle out of my stamped panel and white fun form. Then I mounted the negative side of my panel on the A2 size white side folding card base Altenew glue tape.

After attaching two die cut numbers using Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze, I inlaid my numbers on the opening of my stamped panel.

I stamped the sentiment from the Floral Garden Stamp Set with Embossing Ink on a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed it using some Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder.

Then I cut out my sentiment into a thin banner and mounted it on the top of number 2 die cut using 3M foam tape. 

I didn’t take a photo, but I also added the sentiment from the Smiles and Hugs Stamp Set inside the card and another sentiment from the Crafty Friends Stamp Set on the back of my card in black. This is it for my card!
