Hello, and welcome to the Altenew July 2018 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the uber talented Nina-Marie Trapani’s blog, you are right on track.
To celebrate a release of new stencils, I created a couple of cards featuring the following products: Feeling Dotty Stencil, Frosted Garden Stamp & Die Bundle, Halftone Circles Stamp Set, Party Banner Die Set, and Pocket Banner Die Set.

For my first card, I started with a 4.25″ x 5 .5″ panel of white cardstock, laid over the Feeling Dotty Stencil, and inked the panel using the Moon Rock Ink and a blending tool.
Then I moved up the stencil a bit and inked again using the Mocha Ink to create a two-toned polka dot background. By the way, I applied ink heavily toward the center of my panel to create a gradient look.
Then I cut out the banner out of my inked panel using the Party Banner Die Set. Next, I cut my Green Leaf Cardstock to 4.25”x 5.5” and scored it at 0.25″ using a scoring board and bone folder. I adhered the top of my banner on the scored area of my colored cardstock to make a top folding card.
I stamped the floral silhouette image twice from Altenew Frosted Garden Stamp Set, cut the images using the Altenew Frosted Garden Die Set, and mounted them together using 3M foam tape. Then I adhered two layers of my die cut image on the dotty background using Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze.
Don’t you just love the peek of the yellow die cut under the brown floral die cut? FYI, here is a list of Altenew Crisp Ink Pads I used for stamping:
- Top Image: Mocha, Espresso
- Bottom Image: Maple Yellow
I stamped the sentiment from the Halftone Hearts Stamp Set with Embossing Ink on a piece of Lipstick Red Cardstock and heat embossed it using some Pure White Embossing Powder. Then I cut out my sentiment into a thin banner and mounted it on the card front using 3M foam tape.
To finish off the card, I added some dots on my dotty background using Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops Red Berry to add interest. I was going to add only several dots, but I couldn’t stop adding the dots. Hehe!
For my second card, I also created a two-toned background using the Feeling Dotty Stencil and same ink colors: Moon Rock Ink and Mocha Ink.
I used the Frosted Garden Stamp Set again for my image, but this time I cut the background panel using the Pocket Banner Die Set to create a front panel of my card. FYI, here is the list of ink colors I used for stamping:
- Top Image: Evening Gray, Moon Rock
- Bottom Image: Heart Beat
To keep the balance of my colors, I chose the image color from one of the colors that I used for inking my dotty background.
