Hello, and welcome to the Altenew June 2018 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the Altenew blog, you are right on track.
To celebrate a release of new stamps and dies, I created a couple of cards featuring new products: Ditsy Print Stamp Set, Party Banner Die Set, Pocket Banner Die Set, and Mega Alphabet Dies.
For my first card, I started by cutting out the banner using the Party Banner Die Set out of white cardstock. Then I stamped a set of two floral bouquets from the Ditsy Print Stamp Set on the panel using Altenew Crisp Dye Inks.
I stamped each layer twice to get an intense impression and dried my paper between each color transition to prevent from ink smudging. FYI, here is the list of ink colors I used for stamping:
- Flowers: Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss, Heart Beat
- Leaves: Parrot, Olive
- Outline: Permanent Black
Once my stamping was done, I die cut the letter “U” twice using the Mega Alphabet U Die out of my stamped panel and white fun form. Then I mounted my stamped panel on the pocket banner die-cut using glue tape. Next, I in-laid my die cuts to add dimension using a glue pen.
I cut my Green Leaf Cardstock to 4.25”x 5.5” using my paper trimmer and scored my cardstock at 0.25″ using a scoring board and bone folder. Then I adhered my white banner panel on the colored cardstock to make a top folding card.
I stamped the sentiment from the Halftone Hearts Stamp Set with Embossing Ink on a piece of black cardstock and heat embossed it using some Pure White Embossing Powder. Then I cut out my sentiment into a thin banner and mounted it on the card front using 3M foam tape.
I didn’t take a photo, but I also added the sentiment inside the card by heat embossing the sentiment from the Crafty Life Stamp Set with some Rose Gold Crisp Embossing Powder.
For my second card, I used the same Ditsy Print Stamp Set for my images but used the Pocket Banner Die Set to create a front panel of my card.
This time I chose the unique color combo. FYI, here is the list of ink colors I used for stamping:
- Flowers: Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Honey Drizzle
- Leaves: Volcano Lake, Lagoon
- Outline: Permanent Black
I used Lagoon Cardstock for my card base. I think it would also look pretty if you choose yellow or black cardstock as card base as long as you choose the color from color combo you used for stamping your images.
