Hi, crafty friends! Today I have a fun watercolor card to share with you all! I’ve wanted to give this technique a try for a long time, and I extremely love how my card turned out. And it was so easy to achieve this messy watercolor look.
I started by adhering a couple images from Pinkfresh Studio Dainty Botanicals Stamp Set to the door of my Original MISTI Stamping Tool. Then I applied some Tim Holtz distress ink on my stamps, spritzed a little bit of water over my stamps using Tim Holtz Sprayer, stamped the images on my A2 size watercolor paper, and dried the paper with heat tool.
I repeated the same process until I created a field of wildflowers along the bottom of my panel. FYI, here is the list of Tim Holtz distress ink I used for stamping: Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, Mowed Lawn, Wild Honey, Seedless Preserves, Shaded Lilac.
Next, I added some splatters using Tim Holtz distress ink and Ranger Perfect Pearls Gold on to the entire background of my panel. I also added some dots on my images using Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew to add interest.
I cut my panel into 4″x5.25″ using Tim Holtz Tonic Paper Trimmer and mounted it on to A2 size side folding white card base with 3M foam tape to give dimension. Then I stamped the sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio Bird With Flowers Stamp Set with Versafine Onyx Black Ink in the middle of my card front.
I stamped the second sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio Word Series: Thanks Stamp Set on a piece of black cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Clear Ink and heat embossed it with Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder. I finished off my card by mounting my sentiment strip banner on the card front using 3M foam tape.
