Hello, and welcome to the Spellbinders April 2018 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the fabulous Nina Marie Trapani’s blog, you are right on track.
To be honest, I’m not good at using stand-alone floral dies. I just don’t know how to use them and what to do with them. However, I decided to challenge myself and played with the Blooming Rose Etched Die Set to create today’s project.
I started by stamping the sentiment from the Crafty Life Stamp Set in the middle of my card front with black ink. FYI, I used the Spicy Yogurt Cardstock for my card base because the natural grains in this paper gives it a beautiful earthy texture.
Then I die cut multiple flowers and leaves using the Blooming Rose Etched Die Set and Spellbinders Platinum Diecut Machine and stacked my flowers together using 3M foam tape to create dimension between each layer.
FYI, I used some patterned papers from Pinkfresh Studio’s Let Your Heart Decide 6×6 Paper Pack for diecutting my flowers and leaves. If you don’t like using patterned papers, you could blend ink colors on a piece of white cardstock to create your own colored paper.
After assembling the die-cut flowers, I adhered my flowers and leaves around my sentiment to create a floral scene. I finished off my card by applying some dots using Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops Black to add some interest to my background.
Don’t you just love the subtle colors of the patterned papers and dramatic dimension of the die-cut flowers? The Blooming Rose Etched Die Set did all the work for me, and I was able to put my card together easily!
