Hello, and welcome to the Waffle Flower April 2018 Release Blog Hop! If you came from my sweet and talented friend Kelly Latevola’s blog, you are right on track! To celebrate the release, I created a fun dimensional card featuring the new Bouquet Builder 1 Combo from Waffle Flower Crafts.
I started by stamping the images from the Bouquet Builder 1 Stamp Set with Simon Says Stamp Embossing Ink on a piece of A2 size Altenew Pale Gray Cardstock. Then I heat embossed the images with Altenew Rose Gold Crisp Embossing Powder.
Then I heat embossed the same images one more time with Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder on a piece of the Pale Gray Cardstock. After cutting out the images with the Bouquet Builder 1 Die Set, I popped them up over the embossed images on my panel using 3M foam tape and trimmed off the excess paper using my scissors.
To create a focal point on my card, I stamped the floral spray image from the Bouquet Builder 1 Stamp Set on a piece of Prima Watercolor Paper with the embossing ink and heat embossed it with the white embossing powder.
Next, I colored my images with Derwent Inktense Watercolor Colored Pencils. Simply I picked up the pigment from the pencil directly using my wet watercolor round brush #2 and applied the color on the areas.
It’s been years since I used the watercolor pencils, and I’m so happy with how my watercolor flower turned out. Please leave a comment below, if you would like to see my video tutorial on how to use watercolor pencils. If I get many requests, I’ll plan to make the tutorial in the near future.
Again, I die cut my flower spray image with the coordinating die from the Bouquet Builder 1 Die Set and mounted it on the die cut image as a third layer using 3M foam tape. To add some interest on my background, I added some dots between the images to fill in the gaps using a fine tip of Altenew Artist Markers Set A: Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades.
I heat embossed the sentiment from Waffle Flowers’s Rainbows Stamp Set using white embossing powder on a piece of black cardstock. After cutting out my sentiment into a thin banner using a craft knife and ruler, I mounted the sentiment banner on the left side of my watercolor flower using 3M foam tape to finish off my card.
