How-To Video: Coloring with Prismacolor Colored Pencils | Hero Arts Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello, and welcome to the Hero Arts 2018 Spring Catalog Blog Hop. If you came from the amazing Cathy Zielske’s blog, you are right on track! I created two cards to celebrate a release of 2017 Winter Catalog Collection.
For my first project, I created a bold floral background card using the Flowering Magnolia stamp from Hero Arts Spring Catalog Collection. I started by stamping the image a few times on an A2 size black cardstock with Altenew embossing ink.
After I heat embossed the images with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder, I colored them with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Here is the list of the colors I used:
- Flowers: Pale Vermilion(PC 921), Carmine Red(PC 926), Crimson Red (PC 924), and Magenta (PC 930)
- Leaves: Chartreuse (PC 989), Spring Green(PC 913), Apple Green(PC 912), and Grass Green(PC 909)
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Make A Fountain stamp set with Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of white cardstock. Next, I trimmed my sentiment into a banner using a craft knife and ruler.
I finished off my card by mounting the sentiment banner on the card front using 3M foam tape to give some dimension.
Video
I made a video tutorial to show you how to create my card from start to finish. You can watch it above or in HD on YouTube.
For my second project, I created a fun background using the plate image from the Alphabet Soup stamp set. I started by stamping the images randomly on an A2 size Neenah Desert Storm Cardstock with Versamark Watermark Ink.
Then I heat embossed the images with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and colored them with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Pens. FYI, here is the list of the colors I used: Yellow(No.050), Pink Flamingo(No.222), Turquoise Green(No.042)
I adhered a sheet of vellum on my card base and mounted my spoons and heat-embossed sentiment banner on the card front using 3M foam tape. By the way, I used the sentiment from the Welcome Neighbor stamp set.
