Hero Arts October 2017 My Monthly Hero Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hero Arts Holiday Card May Park 1

Welcome to the Hero Arts October 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit Blog Hop. If you came from the amazing Lydia Fiedler’s blog, you are right on track! To celebrate a release of  October 2017 My Monthly Hero Kit, I created an elegant holiday wreath card.

Hero Arts Holiday Card May Park 1

I started by stamping the wreath and poinsettia images from Hero Arts Santas Door Accessories stamp set with Versamark Watermark ink on an A2 sized Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. Then I heat embossed them with Hero Arts gold embossing powder.

Then I colored the images with Prismacolor colored pencils. FYI, I used the following colors for my coloring: PC939 Peach, PC929 Rose, PC920 Light Green, PC992 Light Auqa, and PC1006  Parrot Green.

I filled in the gaps between wreaths by gold heat embossing the dots and snowflakes from Hero Arts Nice Elves stamps set. For an extra interest, I added dots on berries using Signo white gel pen.

Hero Arts Holiday Card May Park 3

I gold heat embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts Fluffy Stockings stamp set on a piece of black cardstock. To finish off my card by popping up the sentiment banner on the card front using 3M foam tape.

Hi there, I just have to say, even though it’s been said before, that gold embossing on the Dessert Storm paper was SIMPLY FABULOUS!!!! I would have never chosen colors so close together, for fear of losing the embossing… In fact, I was just explaining to my son (13yo made a NICE but silly joke card to celebrate World Card Making Day) he chose a darker toned, red on umber, on brown, ect plaid DSP for the background and wanted to stamp a black spider web on it, But I was afraid of losing the black to the background. Thank you for being daring and bold and showing me a new way!!! Could you please add my name to the Hero Arts Drawing? I thank you again, absolutely beautiful! I might actually be sad if I don’t win this giveaway, because I am so broke I can’t even afford to “PAY” attention, seriously though, diagnosed with narcolepsy and unable to work, disability hasn’t started yet.. So, this old goof fits me perfectly! lol!!! But, I am thankful for your experience and willingness to share! Thank you…
