Hello, and welcome to the Altenew August 2017 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the amazing Nina-Marie Trapani‘s blog, you are right on track!
To celebrate a release of stamps, dies, and storage pouches, I created a fun card with stamped background using the Speech Bubbles stamp set from Altenew.
I started by stamping speech bubble image with Altenew Crisp Inks: Rouge, Warm Sunshine, and Volcano Lake on A2 sized white card base.
When you use only limited colors like me, make sure to use different color next to each image. It’s also good if you stamp the image partially off the edge of your card front to balance your images better.
Then I added some dots between the images with Altenew Artist Markers Set A: Jet Black. If you are looking for a easy way to dress up your colorful stamped background, this dotting technique will give your card more finished look.
Depending on your projects, you can add dots in various colors instead of black. You can also create a different look of dot by choosing different tip from your marker: brush tip, fine tip, or chisel tip.
I die cut the letters, X and O, using Altenew Bold Alphabet Die Set out of Dark Grey cardstock. Then I heat embossed the sentiment from the Adore You Stamp Set with Altenew Pure White embossing Powder on a piece of Hero Arts Pool Paper.
I finished off my card by mounting the die cut letters and sentiment strip on the card front using 3M foam tape.
FYI, my inspiration came from the card I created with the Simple Flowers stamp set. You can read the original post HERE. Instead of clear sequins, I added some black dots to my stamped background.
I also made a matching envelope using Altenew Envelope Liner Die Set and Crafty Friends Stamp Set. I die cut the liner out of Hero Arts Sunshine Paper and cut hearts from the flap portion of the liner using the Envelope Liner Die Set. I attached the liner inside the Altenew Lagoon Envelope with Altenewe glue tape.

What a fun card! It is hard to pick a favorite from this release but I have to go with the die cuts. I love the striped leaf cover plate, the signature word dies and the envelope liner . . . I feel like I will need a second job to support my hobby!

Picking my favorite will be difficult, but you can’t beat Altenew for their floral sets. I think Charmed is my new set; however, More Than Words have such gorgeous and classy sentiments….BTW, your English has been steadily improving so much! Even though I don’t know you, I’m so proud of you. As a fellow Asian, I know the level of perseverance it requires to continue each day. Some days, the progress just seems too slow, but it is so worth it! Keep up the great work & continue to hold yourself to higher standards!
