Hi, crafty friends! Today I have a cute, colorful watercolor card that I created with the Cake Love stamp set from Altenew. This time I brought my stamped background to the next level by stamping several words on the background and adding black dots between the images.
I started by stamping the images from the Cake Love stamp set with Hero Arts intense black ink on a A2 size Strathmore watercolor paper. Then I stamped the words from the Layered Letters AFG stamp set and the holly berries images from the Vintage Teacup stamp set to fill in the gap.
Next, I colored my images with ZIG Clean Color Real brush pens using Tim Holtz water brush. I didn’t put too much effort on coloring/shading but just let the water do most of the work.
I stamped the sentiment from the Sentiments & Quotes stamp set with watermark ink, heat embossed with Pure White Crisp embossing powder on a piece of black cardstock, and mounted my sentiment banner on the card front using 3M foam tape.
I finished off my card by adding some black dots between the images using a black marker from the Artist Markers Set A. If you are following me, you may already know that I’m kind of obsessed with black dots lately. Haha!

I am fairly new to the amazing world of stamping but have been making cards and invitations for many years. I have amassed quite a collection in the last month or two, yikes. I started out by making lists of what I felt were “essentials” to truly get started. I had a page for each category like tools (misti, die cutting machine, etc), inks, stamp and die sets, paper, etc. Then I watched my list continue to grow as I’d find blogs like yours and seeing all the talented designers and the amazing things they would create.
