This morning Altenew just released the Build-A-Flower: Aster Set and I’m excited to join in their special release. This set includes a 6×8 stamp set and coordinating dies and it is only available as a set, not as individual products. (Shop HERE!)

I created the gold embossed background inspired by my own Gold Embossed Feathers card. This time I used two layer images from the Build-A-Flower: Aster Set

I really wanted the sentiment with the bold and simple font for my card. I had to search through my stash until I finally found the sentiment that went with my card design – the sentiemnt is from Altenew’s Coffee Love stamp set

I added some white dots between the images to add interest to my card. If you are curious what my card looks like without white dots, be sure to watch my video tutorial below or in HD at my YouTube channel.

How to Make a Card using Stamp Layering & Gold Heat Embossing Techniques

  1. Cut Altenew’s Lagoon cardstock into 4.25” X5.5” using Tim Holtz Tonic paper trimmer.
  2. Place the cardstock inside the mini MISTI stamping tool and position the first layer image from the Build-A-Flower: Aster Set on the cardstock.
  3. Ink up the stamp with Altnew’s Jet Black Ink and stamp it on the card front.
  4. Repeat the stamping process until the entire background is stamped. (I stamped two or three times for each image to get good impression with intense black color.)
  5. Prep the stamped panel with Inkadinkado embossing magic powder bag to prevent any stray powder from sticking to unwanted areas.
  6. Ink up the second layer image from the Build-A-Flower: Aster Set with Versamark Watermark Ink.
  7. Apply some Ranger Gold super fine embossing powder, tap off the excess, and heat emboss the stamped image with the Hero Arts embossing gun until it is completely melted.
  8.  Repeat the embossing process until the entire background is gold embossed.
  9. Add some white dots between each image using the Signo white gel pen
  10. Stamp the sentiment from Altenew’s Coffee Love stamp set with Versamark Watermark Ink on a piece of black cardstock. (I cut my stamp with scissors as I wanted to stamp only first line of the sentiment.)
  11. Apply some Ranger White super fine embossing powder, tap off the excess, and heat emboss the sentiment with the Hero Arts embossing gun. (If you have some white embossing stray left on your black cardstock, you can easily cover it with black marker.)
  12. Mount the sentiment banner on the card front using 3M foam tape.
