I’ve been lucky for illustrating products for Altenew as well. Do you own any stamps from above? What’s your favorite Altenew stamp set?
To celebrate Altenew’s 3rd anniversary, I created a watercolor card with the floral background using the Adore You stamp set. I started by stamping the flowers and leaves with Distress Antique Linen Ink on an A2 size Arches Cold Press watercolor paper. I masked my images along the way to dimension to my one layer card.
Then I watercolored my images with Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors and added details using Faber-Castel Colored Pencils. I stamped the sentiments from the Adore You stamp set with black ink and added some dots inside each flower with Uni-Ball White Gel Pen.
By the way, I created this card while I was at the craft retreat with my friends early this month. I watercolored my flowers using Debby Hughes‘s colored pencils, sitting surround by Kathy Racoosin, Debby Hughes, and Jennifer McGuire.
Believe it or not, I almost threw away this card as I covered the entire image of my watercolor flower with colored pencils. (See the pink flower above.) That meant I watercolored for nothing. However, my friends were kind enough to say how much they love my colored images – so I decided to complete my card. I hope you like my card, too. 😉
I’ve met so many amazing friends through Altenew. I’m so thankful to be part this paper crafting community full of kind, supportive, and talented people. I can’t thank Tasnim, President of Altenew, enough for trusting/encouraging me. I still can’t believe I’m part of the Altenew family. (Happy sigh!)
