Giveaway & Video: One Layer Card with Floral Stamped Background
Happy Monday! Today I have one layer card with stamped background that I created using new stamps from The Stamp Market. When Amy reached out to me last month asking to guest design for The Stamp Market blog, I was so excited as their stamp designs are so trendy and gorgeous.
After testing out their stamps for a couple of days, I decided to make a card using the Bloomed stamp set which is great for building beautiful blooms with layering images.
To stamp my images, I used Hero Arts ombre ink pads. Because ombre inks are perfect for creating depth in my stamping with three complementary colors that blend across my images.
I did some stamp surgery by cutting my stamps with scissors. You don’t have to use the stamps as designed. You can bend your clear stamps or cut them apart to customize your stamps.
When you create your own stamped background, it’s always good to start with larger images first to arrange your whole images with balance. I’m also going to make sure each flower points out in different directions while stamping.
(Watch it in HD at my YouTube channel)
How to Make a One Layer Card with Stamped Floral Background
- Trim Naturals White cardstock into 4.25″x5.5″ using Tim Holtz paper trimmer.
- Draw guidelines using a pencil and ruler to mark the center of card front.
- Stamp the sentiment from the You Are My Fav stamp set with Hero Arts black ink.
- Stamp the flowers, leaves, and buds from the Bloomed stamp set with several Hero Arts Ombre Dye Inks: Neon Yellow to Orange, Butter Bar to Orange Soda, Pink to Red, Neon Red to Purple, and Neon Chartreuse to Blue.
- Draw 4 lines using Tombow black marker to create a rectangle frame.
- Adhere the stamped panel onto A2 sized top folding card using Scrapbook Adhesives permanent tape.
- Remove the pencil lines using an eraser.
