Hi, crafty friends! Today I’m up on the My Favorite Things Challenge blog as their October guest designer. I created a festive Christmas card using a couple of amazing products from My Favorite Things‘s October release.
How to Make a Christmas Card using Ombré Inking & Copic Coloring
- Cut white cardstock into 4.25″x5.5″ out of Hero Arts Layering Papers.
- Ink the colors on the paper using mini blending tools and Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Lucky Clover and Mermaid Lagoon.
- Add ink splatters using Hero Arts Unicorn White Spray on the ombré background.
- Cut another white cardstock into 4.25″x5.5″ and stamp the gift box images from Merry Everything Stamp Set with Altenew Morning Frost Ink.
- Die cut the circle in the middle of stamped panel using 3.25″ circle die and mount it on the inked panel using foam tape.
- Stamp the images from Merry Everything Stamp Set with Memento Tuxedo black ink.
- Color the images with Copic markers, die cut them with Merry Everything die-namics and mount them on the bottom of card front using foam tape.
- Create the hands of a clock using Altenew Gold Foil Cardstock and scissors and place them to indicate 11:55 PM.
- Heat emboss the sentiment from Merry Everything Stamp Set with white embossing powder on a piece of black cardstock and mount the sentiment banner on the Santa sleigh.
- Finish off the card by adding some shimmer to the Santa with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter.
This card reminds me of my childhood waiting for midnight as I wanted to meet Santa. But I always fell asleep even before 9:00 PM. Haha! I believe that Santa was too busy loading the gift boxes into his sleigh at 11:55 PM on Christmas Eve.
