Hello, crafty friends. I’m so excited to tell you that I’m hosting Altenew’s Inspiration Challenge this month. I chose a photo of my craft supplies I took in my craft room as an inspiration photo. Don’t you just love all the colors and elements you see in the photo?
Besides my recent go-to technique, watercoloring, my favorite cardmaking technique is creating a stamped background by mixing small images from different stamp sets. And here is what I came up with:
I took three main colors – yellow, blue and red – and circle elements from the inspiration photo to create my card for today. I used Spicy Yogurt cardstock as a stamping panel to give an earthy texture to my background.
Here are the stamp sets from Altenew I used for my card : Floral Sprig, Vintage Flowers, Floral Shadow, Precious Moments, Sentiments & Quotes, and Thinking of You.
I made another card with the same design but using different color scheme on a white cardstock. With various colors and images, the possibilities are endless.
I made a video tutorial to show you how to create a stamped background. I’m also sharing something special/different at the end of the video you won’t want to miss out. You can watch it here or on YouTube channel.
I hope you can play along with the Altenew September Inspiration Challenge. Thre are FOUR $30 gift certificates up for grabs. I can not wait to see where the inspiration photo takes you! That’s all I have for today! Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Hi! I realize this is kind of off-topic but I had to ask.
Does building a well-established blog like yours require a lot of
work? I am completely new to writing a blog but I do write in my journal
daily. I’d like to start a blog so I will be able to share
my own experience and thoughts online. Please let me know if you have any
recommendations or tips for brand new aspiring blog
owners. Appreciate it!

Wonderful cards, May! You never cease to amaze and inspire. I’ve even used mini stamps from a variety of dog themed stamp sets to create my take on your technique of creating background cards with tiny stamps. TFS Hugs Kristina

Congrats on your book…wish I could read Korean (is it published in English?). Gorgeous card and such a great video explaining the process. I like the Spicy yogurt card the best because of the little flicks in the cardstock. Thank you for a great post!
