Vintage Roses Birthday Card using a MISTI Stamping Tool

Hello, and welcome to the Altenew & My Sweet Petunia collaboration blog hop! If you came from the amazing Lydia’s blog, you are right on track! Today the design team girls are sharing some fabulous projects using both Altenew stamps and a MISTI stamping tool, and here is what I came up with:

Handmade Birthday Card using Color Layering Technique_Altenew Stamps_May Park

I created a vintage birthday card inspired by Yana’s gorgeous card. Instead of creating stamped background, I wanted to create some floral arrangement for focal point of my card, though. I used both Vintage Roses and Vintage Flowers stamp sets and my favorite stamping tool, mini MISTI to make the card.

It’s not a difficult card to make at all. However, I spend over two hours to finish this card as I had a hard time finding the perfect placement for my diecut elements.

Don’t you love the realistic look of the flowers and leaves? I really love how my card turned out. I think the time and effort I put into my card totally paid off. What do you think?

I made a video tutorial to show you how to make this card from start to finish. You can watch it here or on my YouTube channel. Hope you find it helpful. (Please excuse my cat meowing in the background.)

How to Make a Birthday Card with Stamp Layering Technique

  1. Stamp the flowers from Vintage Roses stamp set with four shades of red: Cotton Candy, Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine on a piece of natural beige cardstock.
  2. Stamp the leaves from Vintage Flowers stamp set with three shades of green: Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen.
  3. Die cut the images using the coordinating dies.
  4. Mount the stripe patterned paper and a piece of grey cardstock on a A2 sized top folding card using double sided tape.
  5. Arrange the flowers and leaves on the card front using foam tape.
  6. Stamp the sentiment from Beautiful Lady stamp set with Versamark Watermark ink on a piece of grey cardstock.
  7. Heat emboss the sentiment with Ranger white embossing powder and add  the sentiment banner to the card using foam tape.
  8. Finish off the card with some clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.
