Hi, crafty friends! I’m up on the Altenew blog sharing three ways to use the Oriental Orchid Korean stamp set I designed for Altenew November release.
This set contains not only the multi layer style of stamps to achieve detailed orchids, it also features my handwritten sentiments in Korean. If you want to see the English version of the orchid stamp set, please click HERE.
This is the translation of Korean greetings. I tried to include the most popular sentiments for cardmaking. If you are Korean, you’ll notice how versatile these sentiments are.
For my first card, I focused on the multi layering to create my own cluster of orchids. You can easily make magical arrangements and bouquets of orchids.
This is a video showing you how I created my card. You can watch the video tutorial here or in HD on YouTube.
I went out of my comfort zone to create my next card, inspired by the queen of coloring, Marika. I used the Derwent watercolor pencil to color the orchids after stamping them with white ink on the navy blue card base. I used the white colored pencil without water for rich, intense color.
It isn’t perfect coloring as I tried this technique for the first time, but I love how my card turned out. What do you think?
This is a video showing you how I colored my orchids. You can watch the video tutorial here or in HD on YouTube. If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up. I really appreciate your support and love.
For my last card, I only used two layers of orchid in various colors. With mix of different shapes of orchids and unique sentiments in the set, the possibilities are endless.

Hi. I loved all the cards that you created but I love the blue card with the white flowers the best. Coming in second was the first card with the yellow orchids.

May, I just love ALL your work. This blue and white card looks simple to do, but I KNOW it would be a challenge for me. I usually try some variation of your cards, so I will be giving it a go on this one. The orchid stamp set would be a great addition to anyone’s collection. Your cards here definitely show off how many different variations can be accomplished… of course, it’s your imagination that I could use. So, THANKS for the inspiration and ALL your work. Just lovely!

WOW, I think my favorite is the Multi-Colored Orchid. Normally I would be drawn to the Blue & white card, which I DO love, BUT….there is something “happy” about the beautiful orchids. Love the Korean sets, my son taught in Korea for a while, so I am putting these on my must have list!
