Hello crafty friends! It’s Tuesday and that means time for a brand new challenge over at CASology. Here is this week’s cue card: When I saw the word OLD, I immediately thought of a birthday because I just celebrated my birthday with my husband and friends a day before Thanksgiving. To be honest, I don’t count my new age anymore since my 30th birthday. LOL! Sometimes I forget how old I am. Do you? I believe that age doesn’t matter unless you are wine or cheese. Hope you are on the same page with me. 🙂 This time I challenged myself not to use stamps to create my focal image. So I drew a stump on my hands instead. I had to keep practicing until I was happy with the look, though. (Check out my Instagram to see the photo of my failed attempts.) What do you think about my drawing? Hope you like it and give me some encouragement so that I would try it from time to time on my creations. By the way, I really love the sentiment which goes with the old tree stump perfectly. “Wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.” What an wise sentiment for anyone’s birthday card! This is a step-by-step tutorial on how I put together my card. 1)Draw a tree stump using ZIG black marker. 2)Color the hand-drawn image using Copics. 3)Add some grass image next to the stump with Copics. 4)Stamp the sentiment from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday stamp set by Papertrey Ink. (To make the sentiment fit in my design, I stamped it seperately after covering some words with sticky notes.)

I think your drawing is wonderful! Age is just a number and I have lost count of my real age! If I need to, I may just need a calculator to double check! 🙂 Here’s wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas in advance! Cheers!

You are going to put all the stamp companies out of business with your fabulous drawings. Love this idea, how you drew and colored it, and that sentiment is fabulous. I have it and don’t know why I’ve never used it.
