Hello everyone! Hope you had a wonderful start to a new week. After a great week of LETTER inspiration, we are ready for a new challenge over at CASology! Here is this week’s cue card:
As always, you can interpret the word literally or go for something a bit more outside the box. I love seeing what you come up with each week and I’m ready for a fresh batch of inspiration from you all as I visit your blogs. Without further ado, here is my take on UNDER:
I made a thank you card for my friend who invited me and my husband for dinner last weekend. I created a little “under the roof” scene inspired by the shape of her house. Thanks to the Virginia’s View’s Challenge #7, I decided to pull out some pattered papers to add interest on my card. I chose some black patterned paper to represent the night sky, then I used the Clear Ultra Thick Enamel embossing powder to add some shiny texture on it. I also made my own window frame and matted it over the heart patterned paper. I opted to create the contrast between black and pink to enhance the feeling of warmth and love under the roof. I finished off my card with the sentiment from Kindness Matters stamp set.
This is a closer look at my card. I’m so pleased with how it turned out. Once I had an idea, it took me under 15 minutes to whip up the card. But I have to admit that it looks less CAS than my previous cards for CASology. What do you think? By the way, I’m linking this up to the Catered Crop: new again recipe swap, since I used my neglected patterned papers.
Now it’s your turn to play along. There is a wonderful prize up for grabs from Cindy Coutts and the winner will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge – more details are on the CASology blog. Make sure to stop by each of the DT’s blog for more inspiration! Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
