Catered Crop : Spring Greeting Cards

by May Park-

Hi, crafty friends! Today is the first day of the Spring. Hope you are having a great start to a delightful, blooming, enchanting, and refreshing season! Tonight I’m sharing a card for the latest Catered Crop Challenge which is Spring Fever.

Make a project with the colors, holidays (like St. Patrick’s Day, Mother’s Day and Easter), or themes (butterflies, flowers, rain, bunnies . . . ) of Spring and come join our party.

The warmth of spring made me think of little flowers bursting on the ground and the sprouts growing from the seeds. Then I came up with one layer cards. My inspiration came from this lovely book cover that I found at Anthropologie and the color combo from Color Q #233. For my springy background, I used Garden Grace stamp set by Papertrey Ink. The sentiment is from Breathe stamp set by CASual-Fridays Stamps.

Love these tiny flowers in various colors, don’t you? They look so adorable! Blue and grey are not my go-to colors that I tend to create with often. But I got a set of Studio Calico Color Theory inks in the mail last week, and I was dying to use them. (You can find the ink review here from Jennifer McGuire.) I’m so happy with how it turned out. I’m sure you will see more projects used blue and grey in the near future on my blog.

Love this sentiment as well. It has gotten right to Spring… Start where you are, but don’t stay there. Couldn’t be better than this! What do you think? I know this sentiment wasn’t made to describe spring time, but it worked for me at least.

Here is how I created my card. 1)Dic cut the circle out of cardstock using My Favorite Things’ Circle Die-namics. 2)Stamp the images repeatedly in different colors. 3)Add the sentiment onto the circle die cut in black. 4)Adhere print paper on the back of card front and inlay the die cut to the front.

Which card do you like best? Me? You probably can tell from the photo above. Yes, you are right! I love the card with little flowers stamped, that’s the reason I placed my camera focus on the second one. 🙂

FYI, these are the supplies I used to create my card: Cuttlebug die-cut machine was not pictured. By the way, I’m entering my cards into the following challenges: CAS on Sunday #29 and Fusion Card Challenge #6.

There is a fabulous Pinterest board that Linda has curated. You can head over to her board, Spring Fever, to find links to all the inspiring projects. Make sure to stop by the Catered Crop blog to see the rest of the DT creations on Sunday, March 23. I hope you play along with us as the winners will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Hope you have a great weekend! Happy crafting!
