CASology #82: Lovely-Belly Valentine Card

by May Park-

Happy Tuesday! It’s time for a new challenge over at CASology. Here is this week’s cue card:

For some reason this week’s cue word, bold, reminded me of The Biggest Loser. I have rarely watched an episode of The Biggest Loser, but I love the message and makeover aspect of the show. Last week I ran across the biggest loser season 15 finale, and I felt uncomfortable to see the winner with the shocking weight loss. She was too thin and looked unhealthy. I spent some time thinking about what healthy weight loss looked like. Then I came up with this card:

This lovely-belly card is special because I’ve made it to give to my hubby on Valentine’s Day. Did you notice a woman in pretty panties? It’s almost embarrassing to say that I have rounded baby-like belly. If you see me in naked, you would think I’m pregnant which is obviously not true. Sometimes it bugs me, so I ask my hubby if he is okay with my chubby belly or not. Whenever I ask him, he brings the best answer. “You are the most beautiful woman in the world no matter what….” Oh my! There is no doubt he is the sweetest white lier on earth! *wink*

I combined repeated stamping and masking to create a lovely pattern of red hearts myself. I used the heart image from Lots of Love stamp set by Avery Elle. I chose the sentiment from the same set, since it worked perfectly for my CAS one-layer card. Can you guess what the little heart between the letters mean? Yes, it’s a belly button. 🙂 Isn’t it so cute? I love the way my card came together!

small_2I decided to take some step shots to share with you a step-by-step photo tutorial on how I created my card. It’s easier than you might think! 1)Cut 5″ circle piece from paper, cut it into three pieces, and place them over the card base using removable adhesive. 2)Start stamping the images repeatedly in red to fill in the white space. 3)Remove the mask and enjoy the wow moment. 4)Add a sentiment using black ink and red marker. Easy peasy?

FYI, these are the supplies I used to create my card. That’s all for today. Make sure to stop by each of the DT’s blog for more inspiration! Don’t forget to link up your own BOLD creations on the CASology blog by Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (CST) for your chance to win a gift certificate from Uniko Studio and guest design on the next challenge.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this website hosting companies.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to
get that “perfect balance” between usability and appearance.
I must say you’ve done a excellent job with this. Additionally,
the blog loads extremely fast for me on Internet explorer.
    Excellent Blog!
