Spring Home Decor : Mini Banner

by May Park-

Hi all! I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was not good. I stayed in bed and struggled with a terrible migraine. Whew! I feel better now. Glad to be back to my craft table.

For today’s project I really wanted to use scraps of patterned papers, and I ended up with a mini banner. As you can see above, I decorated each pennant with various elements.

To create the banner, I started by cutting out some flag pennants using my craft knife. I tried cutting them different sizes a few times to get an idea what size triangle would be best for my little banner. Then I had fun making a few types of DIY flowers using some paper and ribbon. I also did lots of punching from the patterned papers to make the flowers and butterflies. The most fun part was arranging all the different embellishments on each pennant. To finish off my project, I strung my banner using baker’s twine from The Twinery.

I like how the mini banner turned out – so easy, but lovely. FYI, I made this banner to hang on the front door of my apartment. Every time I see the banner, I feel so refreshed and festive. It would also help brighten up my doorway.

I hope you enjoyed my banner, and you find a little bit of inspiration. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
