Hello, and welcome to the Altenew May 2018 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the fabulous Jessica Frost-Ballas’s blog, you are right on track. Today the design team girls and guests are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate a release of new stamps and dies.
I started by ink blending the colors on the A2 size watercolor paper with Tim Holtz distress ink: Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Worn Lipstick, Festive Berries, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon, Seedless Preserves. Then I dried my inked panel with a heat tool.
Next, I stamped the image from Altenew Starry Flowers Stamp Set with Embossing Ink on both colors of my panel. Then I prepped my panel with Inkadinkado embossing magic powder to prevent any stray powder from sticking to unwanted areas while heat embossing.
After I applied some Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder over the stamped images, I heat set the images until they were completely melted. Then I spritzed with Perfect Pearls mist all over the inked panel to add a bit of shine and shimmer to my background.
After my inked panel was dry, I cut the panel into 4″x5.25″ using Tim Holtz Tonic Paper Trimmer and mounted it on to A2 size top folding white card base with 3M foam tape to give dimension.
I die cut each letter(H, E, L, L, 0) 5 times from Altenew Fine Alphabet Die Set out of white cardstock and one time out of Simon Says Stamp Gold Glitter Cardstock using Altenew Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine.
Then I adhered my die cuts together using a glue pen to make the letters thick and mounted the letters on the card front. I used my T square ruler to place the letters in straight.
I stamped the sentiment from Altenew Crafty Friends Stamp Set with on a piece of black cardstock with Embossing Ink and heat embossed it with Altenew Pure White Embossing Powder.
Next, I trimmed my sentiment into a thin strip and mounted my sentiment strip banner on top of the gold letters using 3M foam tape.
It’s a shame that my camera failed to catch those yummy colors from ink blended background due to the cloudy weather. Believe me – they look much vibrant and pretty in real life.
