Welcome to the Sending Sunshine Collection Release Blog Hop from Simon Says Stamp! If you came from the fabulous Anna Kossakovskaya’s blog, you are right on track!
I started by creating a messy controlled watercolor background using a wet paintbrush and Tim Holtz distress ink: Mustard Seed and Peacock Feathers on a piece of Canson Watercolor Paper. I tried so hard not to leave any harsh lines on the background.
After my watercolor panel was dry, I cut the panel into 4″x5.25″ using Tim Holtz Tonic Paper Trimmer. Then I stamped the floral image from Simon Says Stamp Spring Flower Burst Stamp Set with Simon Says Stamp Clear Ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder.
FYI, I prepped my watercolor paper with Inkadinkado embossing magic powder bag before heat embossing to remove any moisture, static, and oils so I can get a clean embossing without any stray powders.
After heat embossing the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Wreath Greetings Stamp Set with Altenew Antique Gold Embossing Powder in the middle of my watercolor background, I added some splatters using Tim Holtz distress ink and Ranger Perfect Pearls.
I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Hello You Stamp Set with on a piece of black cardstock with Simon Says Stamp Clear Ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts White Detail Embossing Powder.
Next, I trimmed my sentiment into a thin strip and mounted my sentiment strip banner below the gold embossed sentiment using 3M foam tape to give some dimension.
To add some interest on my flowers, I’m going to add some dots using Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops: Dandelion Yellow, Apple Green, and Caribbean Ocean. I ended up adding too many dots – I just couldn’t stop!
I really love how my watercolor background turned out. Those splatters look so pretty against the soft, cheerful watercolor background!
