Welcome to the Hero Arts Summer 2018 Release Blog Hop. If you came from the amazing Jessica Frost-Ballas’s blog, you are right on track! Here is what I came up with to celebrate a release of Summer 2018 Catalog Collection:
I started by stamping the magnolia image from Hero Arts Florals Magnolia Die Combo with Hero Arts Intense Black Ink on a piece of Strathmore Watercolor Paper.
Then I colored my flower and leaves with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I tried to add fine lines to give some texture to my image. I also applied some darker color toward the bottom of my pedals and the portions where the petals were folded to indicate the shades.
Next, I lightly went over the colored image with Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors and Silver Black Velvet Brush #2 Round. After my coloring is done, I traced the outline of my image with a black pen to enhance the shape of my petals and leaves.
I die cut a cover panel using Hero Arts Bold Graphic Confetti Die and Spellbinders Platinum Diecut Machine out of Altenew Woodgrain Bark Cardstock. Then I mounted the die cut panel on the A2 size white top folding card base using 3M foam tape.
I die cut “love” 6 times out of white cardstock and one time out of Simon Says Stamp Gold Glitter Cardstock using Hero Arts Love Stamp & Cut and Altenew Mini Blossom Die Cutting Machine. Then I adhered my die cuts together using a glue pen to achieve a chipboard effect.
I heat embossed the sentiment from Hero Arts Smile Stamp & Cut using Hero Arts Gold Embossing Powder on a piece of white cardstock and cut my sentiment into a thin banner using a craft knife and ruler.
To finish off my card, I mounted my die cut flower, sentiment banner, and “love” die cut on the card front using 3M foam tape. I love how my card turned out. What do you think?
