Happy Saturday! It’s been three months since I shared a card for Catered Crop. I’m so glad to be back on board with the current challenge which is Heart of the Matter.
Without hearts and Valentines and all things Love-ly, February would just be another cold month between Christmas and Spring. So, for our first challenge of 2014 we want to give you every opportunity to share your heart. Just use a heart somewhere in your project and join the party.
For the bokeh-style background, I started by creating my own mask. I printed out the heart that I found online and trimmed it out with my scissors. I positioned the mask on my card bace using removable adhesive. Then I repeatedly stamped the circles in different shades of pink using sponge dauber. I stamped each color several times without reinking to get the depth and layering. After that, I removed the mask and gold heat embossed the sentiment from Lots of Love stamp set in the middle of the heart. This really is a quick and easy look to achieve.
Isn’t it lovely? It looks like sweet cotton candy shaped in heart or heart balloons floating in the air. Love the ombre effect with two colors of Memento… Rose bud and Angel pink. It gives a lot of depth and interest to my one-layer card. What do you think? Hope you like my card and get some inspiration for your Valentines project.
FYI, these are the supplies I used for my card. I used some regular card stock to print the heart instead using print paper. It helped me a lot while masking in steady condition.
As usual, there is a fabulous Pinterest board that Linda has curated. You can head over to her board, I {heart} you, to find links to all the inspiring projects. I hope you play along with us at Catered Crop as the winners will have a chance to guest design on the next recipe swap.
That’s all I have for today. Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!

Hi again May, I noticed your card is no more in our DT Call linky at TO -I tried to look for your email address to ask if there was some misunderstanding or what happened -it would be great to hear from you. If you have the time, my email is korttikarkuri @ gmail. com (without the spaces). xxx

Hi Nonni! (You email address didn’t work for me, so I’m writing here. Hope it finds you.)I’m sorry for making you confused with my entry. I was linking my card to Time Out Challenge, but I didn’t noticed it was for DT Call. So I deleted my entry after I read your comment. Sorry again! Hope you are okay with that.
