Hello, and welcome to the Altenew December 2017 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the amazing Justine Hovey’s blog, you are right on track! Today the design team girls and guests are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate a release of stamps, dies, and mini diecutting machine.
This is the Peony Spray stamp set I illustrated for Altenew December 2017 release. With a hand-drawn floral image and elegant sentiments, this stamp set has the perfect elements to create beautiful encouragement cards to show someone you care!
Then I created a one layer watercolor card using the Peony Spray stamp set. This large peony flower is a delight to color with any medium, and I decided to color it with my favorite watercolors: Mijello Mission Gold watercolor set.
I stamped my peony image from the Peony Spray stamp set with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink on a piece of Arches cold press paper. To do no-line watercoloring, I did second-generation stamping so that the outline didn’t look too dark, but still visible.
After coloring my flower with Mijello Mission Gold watercolor set, I added some ink splatters in the background after covering my watercolor image. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Peony Spray stamp set with Simon Says Stamp Intense Black Ink on the above of my watercolor flower.
I finished off my card with some white dots and dash lines on petals using Uni-Ball White Gel Pen to indicate highlights. I’m still not sure whether it was the right finishing touch or not. What do you think?
