$100 Prize Pack Giveaway + Crafted Kindness at Online Card Classes

by May Park-

Hello, my crafty friends! I am excited to announce that I’m one of the guest artists for Crafted Kindness at Online Card Classes.

Crafted Kindness is a video bundle of 30 ALL NEW cardmaking videos from industry artists. 100% of after-tax profits will go directly to those affected by the recent hurricanes in the Southern United States and the Caribbean.

Coming Together For A Cause

The crafting community has always been committed to sharing acts of kindness. When one person sends a card to another, the act is small but powerful. And when we come together for a cause, we can help make the world a better place. Numerous communities in the southern United States and Caribbean are still working to recover from the devastation caused by the recent hurricanes. So, we gathered a group of talented cardmakers with a shared goal in our hearts: to help those affected by the hurricanes. Crafted Kindness is the result.

100% of after-tax profits from Crafted Kindness will go directly to help those in the areas hit by the hurricanes. We plan to distribute the funds to families in need or institutions with minimal overhead who can have a high impact on the recovery efforts. And we will be sharing exactly where our donations end up, so be sure to keep your eyes open for that update on social media.

I hope you get some inspiration and give back at the same time by signing up the Crafted Kindness class at Online Card Classes.

I love helping my grown children whenever I can, especially when I need to take off work in order to watch the grandchildren for them so they don’t lose their pay! I was able to take off a week and drive 9 hours to help my youngest son and his wife move into a house from an apartment recently. I took care of their child, my grandchild, who was only 13 months, so they could get things packed and move without having to worry about his care!! So blessed to be able to help!! Also, my mother-in-law just had her 2nd surgery, and I stayed with her in the hospital since my husband had business out of town. Our hospital is small, so nurses aren’t able to assist as much, and it makes her feel better, when her family is there with her!! I just love watching and learning from your videos and the Kindness series is special in making cards and sending them to ones who are needing a pick-me-up!! Thank you!!

One moment in my life stands very clear to me. When I was 22 years old I did volentary work in Thailand as an assistant English teacher. At the end of my stay in Thailand I was staying in Bangkok. Almost every day when crossing one of the main road walking bridges I saw a homeless woman with her infant child. The image of her and the baby did make an impact on me and I wanted to do something for her eventhough I did not have much cash left. On my final day I sorted out my belongings and donated most of my clothes to her and gave her some of my last money. It was not much but I hoped she could use some of the clothes herself or maybe sell some of it.

Kindness comes from the heart. It know no national, color it crosses all state line. It knows no boundaries. It easy come to your needs meeting you were you are. It need not to be rewarded. When I help my daughter by moving in to help her with the baby, or helping a neighbor move, or a co-worker who need a kind word I feel bless to help out. Merry Christmas everyone.

During the month of December, I tip cab drivers and restaurant servers an additional $5-$20. It’s such a stressful time and everyone is trying to buy gifts for loved ones in addition to trying to make ends meet.

What a wonderful gesture from all those wonderful artists. I love making cards and decorative painted items. But I make far more than I can use or gift. I give all my surplus cards and other created items to the local church for their fund raising activities.

Wow, such a generous giveaway and I love the Crafted Kindness online class bundle idea. I don’t think I have any big Kindness that stands out but I do try to make a difference every day with Kindness in all my actions with others, When each of my 3 children were born, I began monthly donations for i.e. sponsored, a child in need through various children charities like St Jude, Children International etc. Though my children are now grown I continue to sponsor 3 children every month.

What a terrific card and tutorial that has inspired me to use water coloring more! So very kind of you to inspire and encourage kindness! Kindness can mean be shown in so many ways but can be so easily ignored in our busy lives. I try to acknowledge and interact with all people to show how much I value them.

The kindest thing I think I have done is to have my best friends three children to live with me for ages when she was admitted to hospital half way through a holiday they were on in Spain, they had to airlift her home whilst her husband & children flew home normally, she was given very little chance to survive. So to make it possible for her husband to stay by her bedside the children moved in with me & my three & partner. Never once did they miss school, nursery, out of school activities & they spoke to dad every morning at breakfast & every night at bed time till mum was well enough to be visited. Mum eventually recovered against all odds & came home & the children moved home again. I really missed them when they had gone as we had got a really great routine to get through busy days & on top of all the busy time I never missed a day off work. I think that’s the best, kindest thing I have ever done. x

Giving alms has always been hard for me to do. One day however, on my way to the city center, I walked by a frail lady sitting down under the blazing sun, begging for money. I couldn’t bear it. I gave her all my coins in my wallet, and bought something for her to eat and drink. It wasn’t much, and I simply gave them to her for she wouldn’t leave her spot.

This was the one time, compared to the numerous ones where I ignored people begging for alms.
I would like to invite everyone who takes the time reading my comment to meditate on the profound meaning of kindness, giving and loving.

“I tell you truly, this poor widow put in more than all the rest; for those others have all made offerings from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has offered her whole livelihood.”
    Luke 21:1-4

I feel like my kindness pales compared to so many others. I just try to always be kind and show it. My kind acts are small—things like taking meals to sick family and friends, sending a hand made card to someone at random who might need a smile; being a kind person means people know they can count on you good and bad times, lending a shoulder when needed, doing favors. I’ve paid for someone’s groceries that were in my line at the store; volunteered many hours of time at schools hoping to make a child smile. I guess it’s just trying to always think of ways to be kind and make someone’s day a bit better.

I started a church card ministry when I became a card maker. People are happy to send and receive the home made cards and any monetary donations go to our Food Pantry.

A family was on the side of the road in our little town with a cardboard sign that they needed gas money. I got cash and went back and gave it to them. They had California license plates and we are in Eastern Oregon. The person with me said ‘how do you know they won’t use it for drugs?’. I replied it was not my job to question what happened with the money after I gave it. My companion then also gave the family money.

The kindest thing I ever did was to give up one of my life dreams so I could foster five rescue horses. In the end though, it has been a bigger gift to me than to them.

One evening in 2016, I was finished shopping for a few items at my local grocery. I was leaving the store and met a middle aged woman, also leaving. It was a very cold night even for Southern California. She mentioned to me she was going to have to wait for a bus. She was chilled and seemed sad. I inquired if she would allow me to drive her home. We loaded our few packages and I did take her home. The happiness I felt stayed with me for a long time.

I think kindness is as simple as saying hi to everyone you meet. They may just need that acknowledgment to lift up their spirits. Have a nice day.
