Hello, and welcome to the Altenew July 2017 Release Blog Hop! If you came from the amazing Kristina Werner’s blog, you are right on track! Today the design team girls and guests are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate a release of stamps, dies, and inks.
I created a soft floral watercolor card using the Blooming Bouquet stamp set and Script Words dies set. I only colored the main flower image in details while watercoloring the rest of my bouquet image loosely.

To highlight my colorful flowers, I chose the white cardstock for my die cut sentiment. I die cut my word 4 times and mounted them together to add dimension.
It’s a pity my camera failed to capture the beauty of my watercolored image. It looks way better in real life – I promise! 🙂
Of course, I had to add paint splatters in my background to add some interest. I just love the random result I get from the splatters.

Floral Watercolor Card using Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors
- Cut down Arches cold press watercolor paper slightly larger than A2 card size using Tim Holtz paper trimmer.
- Stamp the image from the Blooming Bouquet stamp set on the watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink using second generation stamping.
- Tape down the watercolor paper on the chipboard sheet using washi tape.
- Color the images with Mijello Mission Gold watercolor set and #2 round paintbrush.
- Remove the watercolor panel from the chipboard and cut it down into 4.25” by 5”5” using Tim Holtz paper trimmer.
- Mount the watercolor panel on the A2 sized top folding white card base using Altenew glue tape.
- Die cut congrats 4 times out of white cardstock using the Script Words dies set and Spellbinders die cut machine.
- Glue 4 die cut words together and mount it on the card front using a glue pen.
- Finish off the card by adding Sparkling Clear Mix from Pretty Pink Posh.

I am in awe of your watercoloring, I love how you focused the detail on one flower and losely coloured the rest, thats a great idea as I often stay away from watercoloring big images because its so time consuming. I never think to focus my detail in one area, I am certainly going to try this! I am in love with the new pink set of Altenew inks however I am really in need of good yellow so I think that would be my first choice. Thanks for sharing your talent!
