Hi, crafty friends! Today I have a very exciting project to share with you. I created a floral one layer card featuring the gorgeous floral images from the Amazing You stamp set.

Before I start, I wanted to give a big shout out to my super talented friends who have inspired me to give colored pencils a try. They are coloring genius and I’m in awe with every image they color! If you haven’t yet, please make sure to check out their blog – you won’t regret it.

I started by stamping my images from the Amazing You stamp set with the Altenew Crisp ink pads: Rouge(flowers) and Frayed Leaf(leaves). I did lots of masking along the way to create some dimension on my flower bouquet.

My husband bought me a full set of 48 Prismacolor colored pencils about 4 years ago and I barely used it until I made this card. He also taught me how to color with the colored pencils right before I started coloring these images – surprisingly his coloring lesson worked! Haha!

After coloring my images with Prismacolor colored pencils, I added some shadows along the bottom of my bouquet with a light brown colored pencil. The sentiment was added from the Beautiful Day stamp set.

To finish off my card, I added a few Pretty Pink Posh clear sequins on the card front. I’m still on the fence about adding those sequins – maybe it would have looked better without sequins? I almost added red ink splatters right, but I’m glad I didn’t.

Don’t you love all the layers in different shades of red? I was surprised to see myself being able to color beautifully with colored pencils. It’s a shame that I’ve owned a full set of colored pencils for 4 years, and I just realized that how wonderful coloring medium it is!

I made a video tutorial to show you how to color my images. You can watch it here or on my YouTube channel:

I’m so happy with how my first-time coloring project with colored pencils turned out. Hope you love how I colored. That’s all for today. Thank you so much for stopping by. Happy coloring!
