Hello, and welcome to the Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit Blog Hop. If you came from the fabulous Mariana’s blog, you are right on track! Today the creative team girls are sharing some amazing projects to celebrate the release of December My Monthly Hero Kit.

I created a new year card inspired by my Christmas card that I made in October. It was about waiting for Santa to come, and the clock on my card indcated 11:55pm on Christmas Eve.

This time it’s all about New Year’s countdown party – so the clock indicates 00:05 am on January 1st. Does that make sence to you?

How to Make a New Year’s Countdown Party Card using Heat Embossing & Die Cutting

  1. Stamp the images from the December My Monthly Hero Kit with Versamark Watermark Ink on blue metalic cardstock.
  2. Heat emboss the images with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.
  3. Die cut the images using the coordinating dies from the kit and Cuttlebug diecut machine.
  4. Die cut the circle out of 4.25″x5.5″ blue metalic cardstock using 3.25″ circle die and mount it on the 4.25″x5.5″ silver glitter cardstock using foam adhesive.
  5. Mount the die cut images on the bottom of card front using foam adhesive.
  6. Die cut cheers out of gold cardstock and adhere it on the cardfront using a glue pen.
  7. Heat emboss the sentiment with Liquid Platinum embossing powder on a piece of blue cardstock and pop it up on the card front using black foam square.
  8. Create the hands of a clock using gold cardstock and scissors and place them to indicate 00:05 AM.
  9. Finish off the card by adding some gold stripe on each side.

heroarts_handmadenewyearcard_may_6I just love the party-themed images against the dark blue metalic cardstock. They look so classic and festive at the same time. What do you think?
