Hi, crafty friends! Today I’m up on the Concord & 9th blog with my second project as their September guest designer. This time, I created a Thanksgiving Day card highlighting the fantastic Lace Leaf Bundle from Concord & 9th.
How To Make a Thanksgiving Day Card
- Die cut a leaf using Concord & 9th Grateful Leaf Dies out of Altenew Dark Grey Cardstock and save the die cut leaf for later.
- Create a background by stamping the leaf image repeatedly from Concord & 9thace Leaf stamp set using Hero Arts Cup O’ Joe Ink on a negative die-cut panel. (I did some masking along the way to overlap the image while stamping.)
- Adhere the stamped panel on A2 size top folding card.
- Die cut a leaf using the Grateful Leaf Dies out of Altenew Gold Foil Cardstock. Inlay the die cut on the stamped panel.
- Mount the die cut leaf on the gold inlaid leaf using black foam squares to add some dimension. (I offset the die cut to show part of the gold leaf and enhance the drop shadow.)
- Die cut the word grateful using the Grateful Leaf Dies out of Gold Foil Cardstock and adhere it on the gray die cut leaf.
- Heat emboss the sentiment from the Lace Leaf stamp set with Ranger white embossing powder on a piece of orange cardstock. Foam mount the sentiment banner on the card front.
I love everything about my simple yet classy card – the scripted “grateful” die cut in gold, pop of color from the sentiment banner and the lace leaf backdrop in dark gray. Depending on the color of cardstock you choose, you’ll be able to create a different look from cute to lovely to festive.
