Hello, and welcome to the Altenew July 2016 Blog Hop! If you came from the uber talented Patricia’s blog, you are right on track! Today the design team girls are sharing some fabulous projects to celebrate the release of new products: 16 stamp sets, some papers, and washi tapes.
I’m so excited to share what I’ve came up with the Happy Mail stamp set that I’ve deisgned for Altenew:
With fun lettering and multiple floral images that are a joy to color, this set is perfect to bring some interest to your cards. Stamp the accents on the back of your envelope to dress them up or use the images to create your own postcards. Just let the recipients know that you made it just for them with love.
I created my own postcard and dressed up the envelopes using the Happy Mail stamp set. Most of the time I share handmade cards here on my blog, but it was so fun to try something different.
To achieve an old look of postcard, I didn’t use the white cardstock but natural ivory cardstock from my stash. The paper color looks more beautiful in real life.
It took me some time to stamp the red and blue airmail border on my postcard, but it was worth the time and I love how it turned out.
I often hand deliver my cards to my friends. So those postage images from the Happy Mail stamp set are very useful to create some faux postages to decorate my envelopes.

How to Make Your Own Postcard
- Cut down your paper to be 5.25″ x 4.25″ using Tim Holtz paper trimmer.
- Stamp the red/blue airmail border images from the Happy Mail stamp set along the edges of paper using Altenew Crisp Inks : Ruby Red and Desert Night.
- Draw a line in the middle of the postcard using a black pen and ruler.
- Stamp the sentiments from both Happy Mail and Dancing in the Rain in black using Altenew Jet Black ink.
- Stamp the images from Happy Mail and color them with Copic markers.
