Happy Sunday! Today I’m up on the Altenew blog with a poinsettia card that I made using a traditional holiday color scheme: gold and red. Here is what I came up with:
I created my own gold embossed background inspired by this wrapping paper from Paper Source. This card reminds me of how much I love heat embossing technique. It adds so much interest to any projects.
I stamped the images from the Poinsettia & Pine stamp set with watermark ink, heat embossed with gold embossing powder, and colored the berries with Copic marker: R46.
After die cutting a rectangle panel using Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables out of Gold Mirror paper, I mounted it on the gold embossed piece using foam tape to give some dimension. Then I added gold embossed poinsettia for the focal point of my card.
After that, I gold embossed ‘celebrate’ from Super Script stamp set on a piece of white cardstock, die cut with coordinating die, and mounted it below the poinsettia.

Unfortunately, I spilled water on my finished card before I took a photo of it, so I had to make a new one. Hope you don’t mind that the card in the video is slightly different with the one you see here on my blog.
