Hello crafty friends! It’s Tuesday and that means time for a brand new challenge over at CASology. Here is this week’s cue card:
As always, you can interpret the word literally or go for something a bit more outside the box. Here is my take on SNOW:
I created a snowman card inspired by my Christmas card that I made last week using lots of small images from a variety of stamps sets. This time I decided to use heat embossing instead of stamping. I started by drawing a snowman on a black card base using a pencil. Then I stamped small images using versamark ink and heat embossed them using white embossing powder. Next, I filled in the gap with same images by heat embossing them using gold embossing powder.
I created another card using same theme, but I used different sentiment and added some border strips next to the snowman this time. Which one do you like? With borders or without? By the way, you won’t believe how many stamp set that I pulled out to create one single card. Guess what? I used 10 stamp sets from my recent favorite stamp company, Mama Elephant. Do you want to know what they are? Rustic Spring, Alpine Carolers, Arctic Penguins, Carnival Cupcakes, Purrfect Pair, Make a Wish, Cross My Heart, On Point Borders, Jolly and Merry, Carnival Toppers.
Yes, I totally went crazy using all of the stamps to shape my snowman. Filling in the shape is a great way to stretch your small stamps. And the good thing is that the list of shapes is endless. Hope you love my cards and get some inspiration to make your own.
That’s all I have for today. Now it’s your turn to play along. I can’t wait to see what clean and simple ideas you all come up with this week. Make sure to check out CASology Challenge blog to see how the rest of the designers interpreted the challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
By the way, I’m liking this into the following challenges: Less is More #202 and Mama Elephant and Me December challenge.
