Happy Tuesday! Before I start, I have something to share my personal issue with you today. Recently I’ve been really busy with my card making book. I have to hand in my final manuscript to the publishing company by this month. When you‘re trying to meet a deadline, every moment counts. Right? So I’ll take a break for three weeks from the design teams: CASology, Waffle Flower Crafts, and Catered Crop. Hopefully I’ll be back with a card on October 7th. Wish me a luck! 🙂
Last week we had a ton of wonderful CAS creations over at CASolgoy! With all the ‘white’ space in the entries, we were in CAS heaven. Keep it up! And now it’s time to get creative again, and here is this week’s cue card: This time I interpreted the word literally and went out of my comfort zone. Without further ado, here is what I came up with:
I made a double accordion gatefold card for the first time. It wasn’t easy for me to find a perfect card size that fitted my adorable scene in grass. But I enjoyed the fun of mixing two stamp sets together from Mama Elephant and Simon Says Stamp.
I was inspired by some yarn ball image from my favorite Korea television series called “Alone in Love(연애시대).” I loved its realistic portrayal of love, marriage and divorce. Since this is also my husband’s favorite TV series, he was excited to see me making this card. 🙂
This is how I put together my card. 1)Cut white cardstock into 10.5″x3.5″. Then draw some pencil lines at 1.75″, 3.5″, 7″, 8.75″. Next, stamp boy and girl from In My Heart stamp set by Mama Elephant in black. 2)Color the images with Copics. Then stamp lawn image along the bottom of the card with Memento Ink: Bamboo Leaves. 3)Stamp yarn ball from You Are Pawesome stamp set by Simon Says Stamp in the middle of card at the bottom side. 4)Then connect boy and girl by drawing some curved lines both sides of yarn ball with Pigma Micron black pen. 5)Erase all the pencil lines and score the card at 1.75″, 3.5″, 7″, 8.75″. 6)Cut four pieces of heart out of red paper using heart punch and adhere them together. Then adhere the heart on the left side of card. After that, add some glitter on the heart using Wink of Stella glitter clear marker and coat it with Glossy Accents.
I really love how my card turned out. I almost inked the top of my card to create a sky. But I’m glad that I left it white. Hope you also liked my double accordion gatefold card and got some inspiration to make it your own.
Now it’s your turn to play along. As always, you can interpret the word literally or go for something a bit more outside the box. There is a wonderful prize up for grabs from STAMPlorations and the winner will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge– more details are on the CASology blog. Be sure to check out what the rest of the talented design team has for you, including our fabulous Guest Designers, Hyojin. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy crafting!
