Curtain Call: Bow Tie Card using Inlaid Die Cutting

Happy Friday! Today I’m excited to share a card that I made for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge as a guest designer. Waffle Flower Crafts is sponsoring the challenge, and a randomly selected participant will win a stamp set of their choice from Waffle Flower Crafts.

I love mint green, yellow, and grey in the photo! The color combination is really pretty but unique. I also love the linen texture from the bow, too. Without further ado, here is my take on the challenge:

I drew from the theme and colors to come up with my card. Then I created some bow background using the Bowtiful Die Set from Waffle Flower Crafts. Honestly, grey is not my go-to color, but I recently bought some 3 shades of grey cardstock from Simon Say Stamp, and I wanted to try them out. I layered a piece of black cardstock behind the bow panel in a way to add a little interest and to bring out the black accents in the design.

This is a close up at an angle, so you can hopefully see all the dimensions. Can you notice the texture from the white panel? I used some calligraphy paper to achieve the linen feeling from the bow in the inspiration photo. The tiny heart in the middle of bow looks so cute! What do you think? This is a step-by-step photo tutorial on how I put together my card. 1)Cut a piece of white cardstock into 4.25″x5.5″. Then die cut the bows in a random pattern. 2)Adhere a piece of cardstock behind the die cut panel. Then die cut the bows out of colored cardstock. 3)Inlay the bow die-cuts into the panel. 4)Heat emboss the sentiment in white from Bowtiful Additions Stamp Set on the bow die-cut. 5)Die cut a mini circle and a heart using Tiny Heart Die. 6)Inlay the circle and heart in the middle of the bow. Then adhere the panel on the black card base using diemensional adhesive. Add the bow using dimensional adhesive.
