Hello everyone! Welcome to Surface Tag – Waffle Flower Blog Hop! Today is the 5th of the month and also the day that the design team girls get together and share some fun craft projects using our newest stamps and dies released in June. If you came from the Lorena Cantó’s blog, you are right on track! If not, you may want to jump back to the Waffle Flower Crafts blog to get started from the beginning. I hope you will join our Blog Hop today – I promise that you will find tons of inspiration. Without further ado, here is what I came up with:

I created a masculine card inspired by subway art. I used the heat embossing technique to create my own subway art using Bowtiful Stamp Set and Bowtiful Additons Stamp Set. There are tons of great words included in both sets, designed to work together. The best thing is that all the word stamps from the sets are super easy to line up so that I get a perfect placement.

For my tag, I used Surface Tag Stamp Set and Surface Tag Die Set. These are beautiful additions to any stamper’s collection. You can use them many different ways and mix and match for endless possibilities! Please refer to our introduction post here for more details.

This is a close-up. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but I used a lot of foam squares to give my card dimension. For the sentiment, I heat embossed Hello from Flower Circles Stamp Set. But it seemed a little too one dimensional so I got out some black marker to outline and add a little shading to pop out the sentiment. What do you think? Hope you like my card.

sample_0704This is a quick step-by-step photo tutorial on how I put together my tag card. 1)Cut a piece of panel out of Slate Grey cardstock from Simon Says Stamp. Line up word stamps on the Stamp Press and stamp them on the panel in watermark ink. 2)Sprinkle some Liquid Platinum embossing powder over the panel and heat emboss it using heat tool. 3)Make card from Fog Grey cardstock. Stamp label stamp from Surface-Tag Stamp Set and heat emboss it. 4)Adhere the sentiment panel with foam adhesive. 5)Die-cut tags using Surface-Tag Die Set and heat emboss Hello from Flower Circles Stamp Set. Then die-cut tag hole using Tag Hole Reinforcer Die and heart using Tiny Heart Die. 6)Tie leather string through tags and adhere with dimensional adhesive. Outline Hello with black marker. Then adhere the heart and add some glossy accents on it.
