CASology #98: One-layer Card using Generation Stamping

by May Park-

Hi crafty friends! I’m popping in quickly with a card for a new challenge over at CASology. Here is this week’s cue card:
Screen Shot 2014-06-02 at 10.16.01 PMI decided to use some bling on my card and here is what I came up with:

I created a single layer card inspired by a clown wig. I designed my own wig image as a mask using Silhouette design studio. Then I stamped the flower image from Beautiful Blooms II stamp set by Papertrey Ink using generation stamping technique. (By the way, I’m entering this into One-Layer Simplicity challenge #6.)

This is how I made my card. 1)Create a wig image with sunglasses using Silhouette design studio. Cut out the image with Silhouette cutting machine. 2)Position the mask on the card base using washi tape. Then stamp the flower image with the Studio Calico Well Red ink on the first line. 3)Stamp the image with same ink on the second line, but first “stamp off” on scrap paper to obtain a second generation. 4)Repeat the stamping with third generation stamping on the third line. Then sponge the color over the sunglasses using Distress Ink Black Soot and sponge dauber. 5)Stamp the sentiment from Making Memories magnetic stamp set. (I used the sentiment from Good Times stamp set in the step photo, though.) 6)Adhere some gemstones on each flower and coat the sunglasses with Glossy Accents.

You actually make it appear really easy together with your presentation but I to find this matter to be really something which I think I’d by no means understand. It kind of feels too complex and extremely wide for me. I’m having a look ahead to your subsequent post, I will attempt to get the grasp of it!|

First of all I would like to say excellent blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your head before writing. I’ve had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out. I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints? Thanks!|
