Catered Crop: Faux-Watercolor Greeting Card

by May Park-

Happy Friday! Before I get to my post, I want to say thank you so much to everyone who voted for my soda card and help me to go to the next round. I am thrilled that I made the Top 15 in Paper Crafts Gallery Idol 2014 card contest. I really appreciate your support and love.

Today I’m sharing a card that I made for the Catered Crop: Garden Party challenge. What’s growing in your garden? Flowers? Vegetables? Herbs? Weeds!? There’s just something so therapeutic about getting your hands dirty. For this challenge show us anything that might grow in a garden.

I started by one piece of watercolor paper and spritzed it with water. Then I stamped the solid images of flowers and leaves from Garden Grace stamp set using distress inks: Festive Berries and Mowed Lawn. Next, I used a paint brush with a bit of water to make the colors smooth. I tried not to make them perfect so that my images looked like watercolor painting. After that, I stamped the outline images of flowers and leaves from the same set using Stampin’ Up ink pad: Real Red and Old Olive. Next, I added a shimmer over the flowers using Wink of Stella glitter clear marker. I finished off my card with the sentiment from Mini Blooms stamp set by Papertrey Ink. Nothing fancy or creative, but I enjoyed making this card. Hope you like it, too.

There is a fabulous Pinterest board that Linda has curated. You can head over to her board, Garden Party, to find links to all the inspiring projects. Make sure to stop by the Catered Crop blog to see the rest of the DT creations on Sunday, June 1. I hope you play along with us as the winners will have a chance to guest design on the next challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!
