Waffle Flower: Barbershop Themed Card using Double Masking

by May Park-

Hello, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a simple card that I put together using Notions Stamp Set and Bowtiful Stamp Set from Waffle Flower Crafts.

DSC_4641This is what I came up with. I created a single layer card with barbershop theme. Are you familiar with this pattern? Yes, I got inspiration from barber’s pole to create my own background. To add dimension to my one layer card, I used double-maksing technique. I really love the way this turned out. What do you think? Hope you like it, too. 🙂

This is how I created my card. 1)Stamp the scissors and sentiment on a sticky note. Then adhere the mask on the card front. 2)For double masking, mask over the card base using washi tape, leaving the spaces in between. 3)Sponge the colors over the open areas using sponge dauber. I used Something Blue and Well Red from Studio Calico Color Theory. 4)Carefully remove all the masks. 5)Stamp the scissors and sentiment in black on the center of card front. 6)Scored each of the four edges at the 1/4 inch mark from the outer edges of the card.

Love this card! My husband sings in a barbershop quartet and one of the members is an actual barber. I can definitely use this idea.
