Waffle Flower Blog Hop: Can You Felt It? +Giveaway

by May Park-

Hello everyone! Welcome to Can You Felt It? – Waffle Flower Blog Hop! Today is the 5th of the month and also the day that the design team girls get together and share some fun craft projects using our newest stamps and dies released in April. If you came from the amazing Lorena Cantó’s blog, you are right on track! If not, you may want to jump back to the Waffle Flower Crafts blog to get started from the beginning.

We teamed up with Benzie Design to bring you a fabulous blog hop full of inspiration, and I got a beautiful felt pack called Promise Colors Collection. That was a great quality wool felt in an amazing selection of colors. Please check out their gorgeous felt here. Without further ado, here is what I came up with:

I created a set of felt gift tags inspired by my fabric gift tags that I made in 2012. This time, I decided not to use my sewing machine. Oh my poor fingers, they worked so hard! It was absolutely time consuming, but I love the way my tags turned out.

To make each tag extra special, I used Bowtiful Stamp Set and Bowtiful Die Set. The stamp set included lots of great words with clean and straight font. It made my needlework so smooth while making stitches. You will understand soon what I mean.

This is what I needed to create the tag: thread and needle, bow die cut, two pieces of circle die-cut, baker’s twine, white eyelet, pearl, stamp, ink pad, and glue stick. FYI, I made my circles using Sizzix Circles Die and Cuttlebug Die-Cut Machine.

Here is how I created my tag. 1)Make some simple decorative stitches around the edge of the circle die-cut using embroidery floss and a needle. 2)Stamp “HAPPY” from the Bowtiful Stamp Set on the felt. 3)Backstitch along the stamped lines. 4)Cover the backside of the front piece with a circle die cut using glue stick. 5)Glue the bow die cut on the stitched circle and adhere some pearl in the middle of the bow. 6)Add some baker’s twine using eyelet and Crop-A-Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch Tool.

This is a detailed look at tags. As you can see, my stitching wasn’t perfect. But I’m not shy to show you my imperfection, because that’s handmade look like, right? I can’t stop looking at my tags. They are super lovely in various colors. What do you think? I hope you enjoyed the creations I shared here today.
